National Small Business Week is May 16 to 20, 2011 and we’ll be doing a few things to celebrate the small businesses in our local community. This special week was proclaimed to recognize the contributions of small businesses to the economic well-being of the country. Currently, there are an estimated 27.2 million small businesses in America to be honored during this special week. Small businesses are major contributors to the strength of the American economy. More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business. They also create 60-80 percent of new jobs in the country. Small businesses drive innovation, create 21st century jobs and increase U.S. competitiveness.
We’ll be promoting local events that are happening during National Small Business Week, and particularly those that we will be attending. We will be hosting a Half Day Marketing Workshop for Small Business Owners on Thursday, May 19th. Click here for more details.
