One of the biggest challenges for small businesses is generating new leads. Generating leads is about getting new people to know, like and trust you. In order to develop relationships with new prospects, I frequently talk about Speaking for Leads. This is a great opportunity for you to help educate your community, demonstrate your credibility, and develop trust with new prospects.
Speaking for leads is also a low cost opportunity for prospects to try you out to see how you work and whether or not you are a good fit. A webinars and workshop format present a low risk scenario for both the prospect and the business.
Diana Jennings of Brand You Image, a personal branding and image consulting firm here in Orange County, was doing just that last week at Time Warner Cable in Santa Ana. Diana presented an introduction to Personal Branding and its value both personally and professionally. As a result of this talk, Diana has received inquiries from 4 prospects for further discussion.
When speaking for leads, many people get hung up on having a large group to present to. Don’t be afraid to take the time to speak to smaller groups as well. Small groups, of 8 to 10, offer participants the opportunity to get to know you, like you and trust you more because people typically feel more comfortable asking personal questions and questions that relate directly to their situation with a smaller audience. And you, as the presenter, get a better understanding of them and their situation which presents a better opportunity to develop trust.
What opportunities have you created to speak for leads?
